Boardman’s Dairy Future Brightens with Tillamook Scholarship Opportunities
While the iconic cows of Tillamook graze over a hundred miles to the west, their impact is felt directly here in Boardman. The Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCCA) has announced its annual scholarship program, opening doors for local students with ties to agriculture, food sciences, and business.
“This isn’t just for kids on the coast,” said a TCCA representative. “Our co-op includes farms and communities across the region. We’re invested in the future of the entire Northwest’s dairy and agricultural industry, and that includes supporting the next generation right here in Morrow County.”
The scholarships are aimed at high school seniors and current college students who are children or grandchildren of TCCA member-farmers, employees, or retirees. With Boardman’s strong agricultural base and proximity to major dairy operations, several local families are expected to qualify.
Eligible fields of study extend beyond farming to include marketing, engineering, and food technology—areas crucial to modern agribusiness. “We see operations like Boardman’s own Port of Morrow and the growing value-added food sector,” the representative added. “We need smart, local talent to drive innovation.”
Applications are now open, with a deadline typically in early spring. Interested Boardman students and families are encouraged to visit the Tillamook County Creamery Association’s official website for full details, eligibility requirements, and application materials.
