Boardman Clerk’s Office Issues Call for Election Day Heroes
As the November elections draw closer, the Morrow County Clerk’s office is putting out an urgent call for local residents to serve as poll workers. With several key local and state measures on the ballot, ensuring a smooth and efficient voting process is a top priority for the community.
“We rely on our neighbors to make democracy work right here in Boardman,” said a county elections official. “Being a poll worker is a hands-on way to serve your community and ensure every vote in Morrow County is counted accurately and securely.”
The clerk’s office is seeking dependable individuals from all backgrounds for paid positions at polling places across the county, including here in Boardman. Duties include setting up voting equipment, checking in registered voters, issuing ballots, and assisting with closing procedures at the end of Election Day.
Training will be provided for all new and returning poll workers, with a focus on Oregon’s specific vote-by-mail and in-person processes. Officials emphasize that no prior experience is necessary, just a commitment to fairness and a full day of service.
Interested Boardman residents are encouraged to contact the Morrow County Clerk’s Office directly for more information on how to sign up. With the agricultural and energy sectors keeping our community busy, officials hope local workers, retirees, and students will step forward to fill these vital civic roles.
