Boardman Elementary Bets on Fun with Annual Casino Night Fundraiser

Get ready to roll the dice for a good cause. Boardman Elementary School is transforming its gymnasium into a night of high-stakes fun with its annual Casino Night fundraiser, scheduled for Saturday, April 22nd, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The event promises an evening of friendly games, including blackjack, poker, and roulette, all operated by volunteer staff. No real money will change hands; instead, participants purchase play money at the door, with all proceeds directly benefiting the school’s student activity fund. This fund is crucial for supporting field trips, classroom supplies, and special arts and STEM programs that budget constraints often cannot cover.

“This is our biggest community event of the spring,” said Principal Angela Rivera. “It’s not about gambling, it’s about coming together as a town to ensure our kids have those enriching experiences that make school memorable. We see families, local business owners, and teachers all laughing and playing together. It really showcases the spirit of Boardman.”

In addition to the casino tables, the night will feature a silent auction with donations from local businesses like Boardman Marina, several area farms, and restaurants along the riverfront. Light refreshments will be available for purchase, with the Culinary Arts class from nearby Riverside High School providing the desserts.

Tickets are available now at the Boardman Elementary office for a suggested donation of $15 per person or $25 per couple, which includes a starting stack of playing chips. Organizers emphasize that the night is designed for adults 21 and over, offering a unique night out where the real winners are Boardman’s students.
