Boardman Rotary Looks Ahead, Inspired by Century of Service Elsewhere

While the Rotary Club of Key West, Florida, recently marked a monumental 110-year anniversary, the spirit of long-term community commitment resonates right here in Boardman. Local service organizations, including our own dedicated groups, understand the sustained effort required to build a stronger town over decades.

“Hearing about a club reaching 110 years is incredible. It reminds us of the lasting impact consistent, local volunteer work can have,” said a member of a Boardman community group. “Our focus is on planting those seeds now for future generations here in Morrow County.”

Instead of looking back on a century of history, Boardman’s civic organizations are firmly focused on present and future needs. Key local projects often center on youth programs, supporting local families, and enhancing the amenities that make our riverside community a better place to live and work.

The core mission of Rotary International—”Service Above Self”—is alive and well in Eastern Oregon. It’s reflected in the volunteer hours spent cleaning up parks, organizing community events, and fundraising for scholarships for local students at Riverside Junior/Senior High School.

Celebrations like Key West’s serve as a powerful reminder that the work done today at local meetings and community projects contributes to a legacy. For Boardman residents, the story underscores that building a tradition of service starts with the actions we take now to support our neighbors and shape our town’s future.
