Sterling Business Council Celebrates Local Leaders, Unveils Plans for Job Training and Community Hub

The Sterling Area Business Council (SABCVA) capped its 2026 awards gala by honoring two pillars of the local commerce community and announcing ambitious new initiatives aimed at workforce development and neighborhood vitality.

Anil Sharma, founder of a prominent Sterling-based IT consulting firm, received the Entrepreneur of the Year award. Council members highlighted Sharma’s dedication to growing a global business while maintaining deep roots in Loudoun County, where his company has created dozens of high-tech jobs for local residents.

Rizwan Jaka, a well-known figure in the Dulles technology corridor and a community advocate, was presented with the Community Impact Award. Jaka was recognized for his work bridging the business and non-profit sectors, particularly his efforts in supporting small business owners and organizing food drives that serve families across Sterling and Ashburn.

Beyond the accolades, the Council used the event to chart a forward-looking course. President Maria Chen revealed plans for a new “Sterling Skills Forward” program, a partnership with Northern Virginia Community College aimed at providing certified training in logistics, cybersecurity, and healthcare administration to connect residents with high-demand careers right here in Loudoun.

Additionally, the SABCVA announced a collaborative project to develop a “Sterling Community Marketplace.” The envisioned space would provide affordable retail storefronts for local entrepreneurs and serve as a weekend hub for farmers and artisans, strengthening the local economic ecosystem.

“Sterling’s strength has always been in its people and its innovative spirit,” Chen told the gathered business leaders. “By honoring Anil and Rizwan, and by launching these initiatives, we are investing in the talent and community bonds that will drive our prosperity for years to come.”
