Boardman Spartan Star Makes College Choice, Heading to Ohio’s Baldwin Wallace

In a decision celebrated by her coaches, teammates, and the local community, Boardman High School senior standout Ava Theodore has officially announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic career at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio.

Theodore, a key player for the Spartans, has been a consistent force on the court, known for her sharp shooting and tenacious defense. Her commitment marks the culmination of years of hard work on local courts and in the Boardman High gym, a journey familiar to many families in our area who follow prep sports.

“We are incredibly proud of Ava,” said a Boardman High School athletics official. “She represents the dedication and spirit we try to instill in all our student-athletes here. Seeing a Spartan take that next step to the collegiate level is always a special moment for our program and for the town.”

Baldwin Wallace University, a respected NCAA Division III institution, competes in the competitive Ohio Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets’ women’s basketball program is gaining a player whose work ethic was honed right here in Eastern Oregon.
