Prague Police Hunt Attacker After Firebombing at Russian Cultural Site
Police in the Czech capital are conducting a widespread investigation after an assailant targeted a Russian cultural center in the early hours of the morning. Authorities confirm that multiple incendiary devices, commonly known as Molotov cocktails, were thrown at the building’s facade.
The attack caused significant material damage to the entrance of the center, with scorch marks and broken windows visible to passersby. Emergency services responded quickly to the scene and extinguished the resulting fires. No injuries have been reported, as the building was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
Local law enforcement has cordoned off the area as forensic teams work to gather evidence. A police spokesperson stated that the motive for the attack is currently unknown and that detectives are reviewing security camera footage from the vicinity in hopes of identifying the perpetrator.
“This was a dangerous and reckless act that endangered property and could have easily harmed individuals,” the spokesperson told reporters. “We are pursuing all leads and ask anyone with information to come forward.”
The incident has drawn sharp condemnation from local officials, who emphasized that such violence has no place in the city. The investigation remains active, with police treating the case as a serious act of vandalism with potential graver charges.
