The prestigious national youth tournament, a critical pathway for the country’s most promising talents, will see its final rounds played at the state-of-the-art Home of the Matildas in Bundoora. Before the action converges on Victoria, the championship will kick off with regional qualifying events across the country. Queensland’s Sunshine Coast will host the initial northern conference, while New South Wales’ capital will stage the southern conference matches, ensuring a truly national search for excellence.

This expanded format is designed to cast the net wider than ever before, giving elite teenage players from every state and territory a direct opportunity to impress national team selectors. The tournament is a direct feeder into the Junior Matildas and Joeys programs, often serving as a first major step towards a full senior cap.

“Identifying and nurturing future talent is fundamental to our long-term success,” a Football Australia spokesperson said. “By bringing the finals to Melbourne’s dedicated football facility, we are providing these young athletes with a world-class stage to perform on, mirroring the environment we hope they will one day dominate internationally.”

With the venues and dates now locked in, anticipation is building for a festival of football that will put Australia’s sporting future on full display. All eyes will be on Bundoora in 2026 to see which rising stars seize their moment.
